KTM & Husqvarna have recalled certain 50 cc motorcycles. The recall includes approximately 780 2019 model year KTM 50 SX and Husqvarna TC 50 2 cycle engined motorcycles. Due to a defect, the throttle may become stuck in the open position. This could potentially cause a crash, injury or death to the rider.
The recall affects model year 2019 motorcycles only. Affected motorcycles have the letter K in the 10th position of the vehicle identification number. Owners can find the vehicle identification number on the right side of the steering head.
This recall affects approximately 780 bikes.
The KTM motorcycles are orange and white with the KTM logo on both sides of the radiator shrouds covering the fuel tank. Printed on both side panels below the rear seat is 50 SX. The Husqvarna motorcycles are white, blue and yellow with the Husqvarna logo and TC 50 printed on both sides of the radiator shrouds covering the fuel tank.
Owners should immediately stop riding the affected motorcycles. The motorcycles should contact and return all affected motorcycles to an authorized KTM or Husqvarna dealer respectively. Dealers will repair the machines free of charge.
