Shareable “Bird Cruiser” Electric Motorcycle Is Coming
Shareable electric scooter company Bird will soon offer a shareable electric motorcycle. Bird says its mission is “to make cities more liveable by reducing car usage, traffic and carbon emissions.
The Bird Cruiser is its latest means to accomplish its mission. Bird says that the Bird Cruiser is a “seated electric vehicle” that can carry up to two adults simultaneously.

The electric motorcycle comes with a padded seat, hydraulic disc brakes and your choice of pegs or pedals for your feet. The new machine is more comparable to a motorcycle than Bird’s mainstay Razor-like scooter.

Bird has not disclosed the Cruiser’s range. However, Bird claims that its 52-volt battery will help “extend the last mile” presumably providing a full day of use. But Bird does say that the new electric motorcycle was custom designed with a motor that will easily conquer hills and take a fair amount of punishment.
Standing alone, the concept is an interesting one. Clearly, it takes far less energy to move a 200-pound person than it does to move that 200-pound person seated in a 3,000-pound car. Bird is grasping onto this concept to help people move around urban areas easily. Their new machine expends far less energy and eliminates carbon emissions.
Bird has not yet identified the cities in which the Bird Cruiser will be available in.
