It seems that re-scheduling motorcycle races is the flavour of the month, with World Superbike and MotoGP shifting their calendars around yet again today, due to the global COVID-19 outbreak.

World Superbike had already announced the rescheduling of the Qatar race, which was supposed to run this weekend as the second event of the year (Australia was the opener). Now, the upcoming Catalunya race has also been shifted; instead of running March 27-29, it’s now posted for October 23-25. The Magny-Cours race has also been moved, from September 25-27 to October 2-4.

Magny-Cours isn’t the only French track seeing schedule changes—COVID-19 changes also hit Le Mans. The 24 Heures Motos round of the FIM’s Endurance World Championship was re-scheduled earlier today, although the German and Japanese rounds haven’t been changed … yet. The French race moved from April 18-19 to September 5-6.  And that brings us to the next question: What about MotoGP’s Le Mans round?

It was a tough day for MotoGP, as the Argentina round, which was supposed to be the season-opener for the GP class, was announced as rescheduled, moving to November 20-22. This is on top of the cancellation of the GP class at Qatar (Moto2 and Moto3 ran at Qatar), and the re-scheduling of the Thailand and Austin races. MotoGP now says the Jerez race on May 3 will be the season opener, but if the 24 Heures Motos is already rescheduled, it seems very optimistic to think Jerez will go ahead. Same goes for the Le Mans round which follows Jerez, with races May 17. If the endurance races are cancelled for April, will we see MotoGP race there in May?
