Tucker Rocky appoints new boss

84 vizualizări

Tucker Rocky, one of the largest motorcycle parts and accessories distributors in the USA, has just appointed a new president and CEO.

Marc McAllister is taking over the top job at the company; previously, Sebastian Bretschneider held the role, but Tucker Rocky’s presser says he’s leaving the company, no explanation why.

McAllister may not be a household name, but he’s got a long history in the American motorcycle industry. He held down a few different positions in Harley-Davidson; at various points, he worked in product design, in the supply chain, and eventually worked into senior positions in the company’s European and Asian operations. He was Vice President and Managing Director of Global Markets after first holding that role for the Asia-Pacific region. He was also a board member at the AMA, and the European Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (what? And he worked for Harley-Davidson? Hrm.).

A bigwig from Tucker Rocky’s ownership group said that “Marc has tremendous experience in powersports and in driving business growth. That’s what we need at Tucker right now.” No kiddin’. The whole American moto-industry has been trying to rebuild since ’08, and the current COVID-19 crisis isn’t going to make things any better or easier. As for McAllister, he said “My experience building a strategy and structure that delivers growth is important for Tucker right now. And it needs to be done while supporting our customers and partners in this difficult time.” At least he’s being honest about the challenges ahead. The market for parts and accessories will be weak in coming months, as well as the supply chain.
