2020 has been a tough year for rally organizers: during the outbreak of COVID-19, most events have either been postponed or canceled. Hellas Rally held out the longest: pushing the race date from May 2020 to October 2020, organizer Meletis Stamatis and his team were doing their best to try and make it happen. Unfortunately, as new restrictions and lockdowns began in Europe in the fall, Hellas Rally organization was forced to cancel the event. Hellas Rally 2021, however, is set to take place in Nafpaktos, Greece, from May  23 to May 30.

“All competitors who have submitted their entries for Hellas 2020 will have their registration transferred to 2021 or 2022 depending on their choice. We’re expecting numbers similar to what we saw in 2019, possibly higher, in 2021”, Stamatis has said.

Hellas is not introducing any major changes in 2021. The rally format remains the same: seven days of roadbook navigation racing with a total distance of over 2,000km including a marathon day where the temporary bivouac will be moved to Karpenissi; all other days, the bivouac in Nafpaktos remains stationary. As always, Hellas welcomes both pro riders and amateurs alike: competitors may choose FIM classes, amateur classes, Adventure Raid designed for large capacity adventure bikes, or thttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w1AFEqcoDs&feature=emb_logohe Enduro Cup class where riders are allowed to have a GPS unit as a backup and do 70% of the rally route.

If May 2022 will not see new COVID-related restrictions or lockdowns in place, Hellas Rally 2021 is poised to be Europe’s biggest rally race of the year atracting well over 200 competitors on motorcycles, quads, and SSV’s.

Registration for Hellas Rally 2021 will open on the first of January and the provisional entry list should be published at the beginning of February 2021.

Ready to race? Pro, semi-pro, or complete noob, Hellas is among the best rally races out there.
