EIMCA 2021 Dates Revealed
It’s back for 2021. Well, at least its website says it is. What is it? It’s the Italian EICMA motorcycle/bicycle show.
The 78th edition of the show will be held from 23 to 28 November 2021. If you’re not an industry professional, you’ll have to wait two days after the doors officially open. That’s because the first two days will be industry-only. But starting on the 25th, the general public may attend.
EICMA – Different dates
These dates are a bit different than usual. Generally, EICMA opens in the early part of November, but the revised dates make us wait a little longer until the end of the month. EICMA’s website says that the change is necessary to ensure no conflicts with other trade events.
The President of Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Motorcycle Accessories) Paulo Magri said:
translated from Italian:
“…the consequences of the pandemic have compressed the rich calendar of Fiera Milano, concentrating many events of international nature. After reflecting with the reference industry and with an exhibition partner to whom we have been linked since 1950, we have chosen to redefine the dates of EICMA in order to enhance the attractiveness and effectiveness of all the events planned.”
So that’s one big show that thinks they will be back in 2021. But others aren’t so sure. For example, Germany’s INTERMOT show organizers have already announced that the show won’t be back until 2022. With the 2021 EICMA show’s announcement, perhaps the INTERMOT organizers and others will take another look at holding their shows sometime in 2021.
Clearly, the impact of COVID and the availability and acceptance of vaccines will be an important part of any organizer’s planning. Let’s hope that things improve greatly in 2021 so that “the shows must go on!”
