Along with its RSV4 superbike series, Aprilia also announced updates to its Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory for 2021. The standard Tuono is revised to become more real world-friendly, while the Factory remains aimed at the aggressive end of the naked bike spectrum.

The Tuono V4 engine is now Euro5-certified, and there’s a new exhaust, but it didn’t receive the same big-bore treatment as the RSV4. Capacity remains at 1077cc, and the Tuono still makes 175 horsepower and 89 pound-feet of torque.

The standard Tuono V4 gets a higher handlebar, and Aprilia also made the pillion seat more comfortable, and lowered the rear footpegs, too. The upper fairing is enlarged, for more weather protection, and Aprilia introduced new saddlebags for the standard model, making it all the more practical.

The Factory version has Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension fitted, and of course, its own unique paint scheme.

Both machines benefit from a new, lighter aluminum swingarm for 2021, using geometry from Aprilia’s World Superbike and MotoGP factory teams (the RSV4 got a similar upgrade). They also get new electronics—a new six-axis IMU and ECU, and Aprilia also tweaked the ride-by-wire throttle. All these changes allowed the engineers to also update Aprilia’s APRC rider safety electronics, so the traction control, ABS, adjustable engine braking, wheelie control and other similar systems are all revised for 2021.

The riding modes are also updated; now there are six modes, with three customisable modes, just like the RSV4.

Aprilia also updated the TFT interface, with a bigger screen and more intuitive controls. The Tuono V4 gets new LED cornering headlights as well.

Both machines will be in the US at end of June, 2021. The Aprilia Tuono will cost $15,999, and the Tuono V4 Factory will cost $19,499 (plus taxes and fees, of course). In Canada, the Tuono models show up at end of July, priced at $18,595 and $21,495 respectively.
