Honda Adds Android Auto To The Africa Twin Adventure Sports
If you like using Android Auto, you may have one more vehicle that can be equipped with the app. Until now, the 2020 and later Africa Adventure Sports bikes exclusively offered only Apple CarPlay. But apparently, Honda is listening to some rider’s call for Android Auto. The Japanese manufacturer is now offering an upgrade to install the popular application.
Now, Honda Europe is announcing Android Auto™ integration for its 2020 and 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sports models. European Honda dealers can now install the new functionality at additional cost.
Once installed, Android Auto lets riders use many of their phone’s functionalities on the motorcycle. Honda says that riders will have access to a clear visual display and easy to use voice commands. The Honda installed application will make it easier to access Google Maps™ navigation, your favorite music, media, and messaging apps.
Honda apparently believes in Android Auto’s function and connectivity apps overall. With Android Auto’s addition to the Africa Twin Adventure Sports, the Honda lineup has several bikes with connectivity apps. You can now have some type of connectivity app on the GL1800 Gold Wing, Africa Twin, CB1000R, Forza 750, X-ADV, and Forza 350.
Honda’s machines like the CB1000R, Forza 750, and X-ADV are equipped with the Honda Smartphone Voice Control connectivity system, which works in tandem with the Honda RoadSync App. The same functionality is available as an option on the Forza 350.
Honda says that embracing Android Auto shows its “…strong commitment to bringing more comfort and convenience to customers’ motorcycle lifestyles across Europe.”
There’s no word yet on whether Android Auto for the Africa Twin Adventure Sports bike will be available in other markets. Nor was pricing for the upgrade announced.
