Supercross releases its 2022 schedule
The Monster Energy Supercross series has announced its 2022 schedule, and it looks like racing is mostly back to normal-ish. After COVID-19 restrictions turned the 2020 season upside-down and impacted 2021 as well, we see a full schedule for the 2022 season.
For 2022, Supercross has 17 races, across 15 cities in 13 states.
- Jan. 8, Anaheim, California
- Jan. 15, Oakland, California
- Jan. 22, San Diego, California
- Jan. 29, Anaheim, California
- Feb. 5, Glendale, Arizona
- Feb. 12, Anaheim, California
- Feb. 19, Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Feb. 26, Arlington, Texas
- March 5, Daytona Beach, Florida
- March 12, Detroit, Michigan
- March 19, Indianapolis, Indiana
- March 26, Seattle, Washington
- April 9, St. Louis, Missouri
- April 16, Atlanta, Georgia
- April 23, Foxborough, Massachusetts
- April 30, Denver, Colorado
- May 7, Salt Lake City, Utah
So, a series that looks like business as usual. It’s possible we will see changes, especially if there are regional coronavirus outbreaks, but at this point, it’s hard to see an event outright canceled. Perhaps we shall see requirements for masks or some other regulations at some events, but that probably depends on local authorities.
The events themselves should mostly look the same as they used to. From the sounds of things, fans will once again be able to meander around like they used to, with food available and other fan experiences running. Behind the scenes, there will probably be changes, as Supercross recently split ways with the FIM, and is running only under AMA sanctioning. It’s hard to see that having an effect on the actual show, though.
Visit the Supercross website, and you can actually buy tickets for the Daytona event already; other events will see ticket availability added in coming months.
