Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (Honda) has released its new small-displacement adventure bike in India.  The bike, the CB200X, is the smallest displacement adventure motorcycle Honda produces.  The Japanese manufacturer says the bike features an “Urban-Explorer” design.

The new machine carries the same engine found in the Honda Hornet.  The engine is a single-cylinder, fuel-injected, BS-VI compliant unit.  It displaces 184cc and produces a little over 17 HP with approximately 12 lb-ft of torque.  Power makes its way to the rear via a 5-speed transmission and chain drive.  So it’s clear that the CB200X is no race bike.

But the CB500 X is not designed to be a race machine; it’s to be an urban explorer.  To accomplish its mission, the bike uses a “diamond type” frame connecting to an upsidedown fork and a monoshock at the rear. Unfortunately, Honda is not providing the travel or adjustability of either suspension component.

The CB200X has 17-inch alloy wheels on the front and rear.  Both are shod with tubeless tires.  At the front is a 110/70-17, while the rear has a 140/70-17.

To help riders stop, the CB200X has dual petal disc brakes, which work in concert with a single channel linked ABS.

The bike’s perch is a “split step seat”  at a fairly low 810mm (a little less than 32 inches).  Ground clearance is 167mm ( about 6.5 inches).

Features

The CB200X sports a higher windscreen, “knuckle guards” with built-in turn indicators, an LCD instrument display, and tires featuring a more aggressive tread pattern.   Lighting is LED all around.

All up, the bike weighs in at 147kg (about 324 pounds). However, whether the stated weight includes a full 14-liter fuel tank and engine oil is not clear.

The bike is available in three colorways, Matte Selene Silver Metallic, Pearl Nightstar Black, and Sports Red.  Interestingly, the bike’s price varies with its sales location.  In Delhi, the CB200X carries a price of ₹144,500 (about $1,944).
