We’ve already seen the press photos of a couple of Husqvarna’s electric motorcycle and scooter concepts.  But now, those interested in the bikes have the opportunity to see them in the flesh.  These electric motorcycles and scooters can now be seen at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, Germany.  The show bills itself as the “World’s Largest Mobility Event.”

Husky is showing off three different bikes.  The first is its E-Pilen electric motorcycle.  The electric version of the bike retains some of the internal combustion engine (ICE) “Pilen’s” shape.   The bike’s body panels have an angular look to them, particularly in the area of the faux fuel tank.

In the E-Pilen, that area does not carry gasoline; however, it houses the bike’s three removable battery packs.  Each of the battery packs has a molded-in handle which should make inserting and removing the batteries easier.

It appears that the E-Pilen will be an urban commuting device.  Husqvarna says the two-wheeler has a max range of 100 km (62 miles).  That’s not a huge distance for traveling but should accommodate city-goers looking to travel within the city.

For power, there’s an electric motor rated at 8 kW (10.7 hp).  That’s not a lot, but it should be enough to zip around the city, given the bike’s urban nature.   Husky isn’t announcing the bike’s top speed at this point, but with the smallish motor, don’t plan on it being an outright speedster.

Also on display is the Husqvarna Vektorr electric scooter concept.  Equipped with modern styling, the bike looks like it could really move along.  But in actuality, the scooter is none of that.  Its top speed is said to be 45 km/h (28 mph).  But on the positive side, for some, it keeps the bike legal as a moped in many jurisdictions.  That means that riders will not have to have a motorcycle endorsement to ride it.

The Vektorr’s lower speed means that the bike may have a range of about 95 km (59 miles).   Husqvarna is yet to tell us how big the bike’s motor is, but it is rumored to have one in the 2-3 kW range.  Such a motor would put the Vektorr in the same power levels as similar scooters.

Lastly, Husky’s BLITZ scooter is also on display.  When comparing the BLITZ to other scooters like the ones from Bird and Lime, it’s clear that the BLITZ has a much more “finished” and interesting design look.

Although Husqvarna is showing off all three of these powered two-wheelers, there’s no guarantee that any will see production.  That said, it’s clear that powered two-wheeler manufacturers are heading towards an electric future.
