Oberdan Bezzi continues to sketch away in his Italian lair; this time, the no-holds-barred moto designer has drawn up an adventure scooter proposal for BMW. Take a look at the drawing above!

In this sketch, the scooter is based around BMW’s 400 cc scooter platform. This machine was developed in Germany, but BMW outsourced manufacturing to Loncin, in China. The engine is actually a liquid-cooled single-cylinder, with twist-and-go CVT. It’s supposed to make 34 horsepower and 26 pound-feet of torque, which is certainly very respectable for a scooter. It weighs around 440 pounds, and comes with such modern touches as LED lights, 6.5-inch TFT screen and ABS.

That would all make a good basis for Bezzi’s proposed design, but there would have to be some changes, if you wanted this scoot to be ready for adventure. You would definitely want more suspension travel; Bezzi drew some long-travel forks into this sketch, and also kicked up the tail-section a bit, with a longer set of shocks (remember, the 400 line uses a dual-shock setup in back).

Keeping in touch with BMW’s long history of adventure bikes, Bezzi gives the machine a tricolour paint scheme that’s in line with the GS series … and there’s even a GS sticker on the bodywork.

Of course, this is all just a fun proposal, and BMW certainly hasn’t indicated it’s building anything like this in the near future. If it did, chances are the end result would be more bulky than Bezzi’s drawing.

Still, it would make sense for BMW to do this. Honda’s ADV150 and CT125 show there’s definitely a market for adventure-styled scooters, and BMW should pick up some of that action if it can.
