Tickets To Daytona 200 On Sale Now
The Daytona 200 will happen in March 2022, and you might want to be there for it. The organizers have already made the tickets available online for the event, which will take place March 12, 2022.
What’s the 200?
If you’re not familiar with the Daytona 200, the “200” part is the length of the race, in miles. The road course at Daytona International Speedway is three and a half miles long. The racers make 57 laps. This is not a short race, and the endurance aspect is part of what makes it exciting to watch.
From the press release, “The DAYTONA 200 will not be included as part of the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship, leaving the opportunity open for the best riders from around the world to compete for the minimum $175,000 in purse and contingency that will be offered.” Take a look at the racing you can catch there.
General admission tickets get you into the stands. You can upgrade that ticket for access into some of the better viewing spots, infield access and garage access.
What Are the Bikes?
The bikes are “middleweight” 600cc SuperSport class, comprising bikes like the Yamaha R6, Suzuki’s GSXR600, and some examples of the Kawasaki ZX6R. Last year a single Triumph Daytona 765 and one Ducati 848 tested their mettle in the mix, too. The organizers haven’t yet announced this year’s bike lineup.
The rest of the week long event’s antics often overshadow the racing events at Daytona’s Bike Week, but if you have any interest in motorcycle racing you might want to take a closer look. The much-touted King of the Baggers will be on the same raceway this year, so you might want to check that out while you’re there, too.
