Custom Zero SR/F Unveiled
What happens when you ask a footwear designer and a custom bike builder to collaborate on your electric motorcycle? That must have been what Zero Motorcycles was thinking when they commissioned Nike footwear designer Tinker Hatfield and Oregonian Thor Drake of See See Motor Coffee to design a custom electric Zero SR/F motorcycle.
Footwear designer
Hatfield is best known for his designs for the Air Max and Air Jordan. But he is also into riding on two wheels, first on scooters and now motorcycles. Hatfield says that no one other than Michael Jordan “shamed” him into riding motorcycles over scooters.
Custom bike builder
Although not a famous shoe designer, Drake does a lot of everything. He builds custom motorcycles and organizes and runs motorcycle shows. But what could the pair of them come up with using a Zero SR/F as a starting point?
The result of their creativity is an SR/F with aircraft design elements and tattoo graphics (on the bike’s seat). According to Zero, you can think of the newly created SR/F as having been “Portland-ized.”
To show the build process, you can now see four short videos showing the bike’s birth in initial drawings, all the way to the street-ready machine. Recently, the result of the pair’s collaboration debuted at the 2021 One Moto Show.
Below are each of the videos.

If you like this one-of-a-kind SR/F, you have a chance to own it. It will be auctioned with no reserve at Bonhams on October 21 at 11:00 Pacific time. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of Columbia County.
