Honda Recalling Certain NC750X Motorcycles

Honda (American Honda Motor Company) is recalling certain 2021 NC750X motorcycles equipped with 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmissions.  According to Honda’s recall notice, the fuel injection control module software may be programmed incorrectly.  As a result, the motorcycle’s engine may receive insufficient fuel when stopping or accelerating from a stop.

Honda’s Part 573 Safety Recall Report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says up to 357 NC750 motorcycles may have this issue.

In its report, Honda says:

“Due to improper fuel injection control programming, the FI-ECU of vehicles equipped with a 6-speed DCT type automatic transmission may not provide sufficient fuel during low, quick throttle application.”

Describing the safety risk, Honda says:

“As a result, the vehicle may potentially stall when accelerating from a stopped position or  right before the vehicle stops, increasing the risk of crash or injury.”

The motorcycles affected by this recall are as follows:

HONDA NC750XD 2021

Specifically, all vehicles built from production start-up through August 30, 2021 equipped with a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) type automatic transmission are affected.

To remedy the defect, Honda will notify dealers and owners of this recall following the below notification schedule:

Planned Dealer Notification Date : NOV 18, 2021 – Not reported.
Planned Owner Notification Date : JAN 07, 2022 – Not reported.
