advrider Adaugat pe 24 Octombrie, 2019 Share Adaugat pe 24 Octombrie, 2019 The Ducati Multistrada 1260 S GT finally hit the public today, and it’s not quite what the Internet was expecting. When rumors of the GT first surfaced months ago, the gossip said the GT was destined to receive a V4 engine, similar to the Panigale. That rumor was nixed when Ducati said the V4 Multistrada wasn’t coming until 2021. So, another rumor started: the GT would get radar-enabled cruise control. Well, it turns out that was fake news as well. The GT was unveiled today, and it’s basically a Multistrada S with some touring bits attached as standard equipment. Hard saddlebags come with the GT from the factory, as well as LED fog lights, comfortable touring seat for rider and passenger, heated grips, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a centrestand for ease of chain maintenance. Ducati also included an electronically locking fuel cap. Most of the rest of the bike is the same. The engine is the same 1262 cc Testastretta L-twin as the other 1260 Multis, with variable valve timing, making a claimed 158 hp and 95 lb-ft of torque. An up/down quickshifter is standard. The GT gets Skyhook electronically-managed suspension, like the S model. And Ducati naturally includes a package of modern electronic safety systems, including lean angle-sensitive ABS and traction control, cornering lights, wheelie control, hill start assist and cruise control. The bike’s TFT dash allows Bluetooth integration for riders who want to use their mobile devices for navigation or music. The GT also has a unique paint scheme, although that’s hardly going to affect its functionality. The 2020 Ducati Multistrada 1260 S GT is expected at North American dealerships in time for next riding season, although no pricing or availability has been announced yet.
