It’s the 40th anniversary of the BMW GS line, and that means it’s time for a party. But, COVID. No worries, though, Bob’s BMW still wants to celebrate, so it’s taking the fun online, on November 1.

On November 1, the well-known dealership will host an virtual party through its Zoom room, starting at noon EST. It’s free to log on, but you do need to pre-register to take part in the fun (click here for registration).

The call will be packed with visits from well-known GS riders, ambassadors and other industry experts. The party kicks off with a welcome message Bob Henig, owner of Bob’s BMW, broadcasting from The Vintage BMW Motorcycle Museum in Jessup, Maryland. They’ve got a virtual visit lined up from legendary motorcycle designer Hans Muth, one of the original minds behind the R80 G/S and many other classic Beemers. Aaron Rankin from the BMW Performance Center  has a presentation on the tech in BMW’s current GS lineup.

Legendary globetrotter Helge Pederson, writer of 10 Years on Two Wheels and founder of ADV touring company GlobeRiders, is giving a presentation, and so is Dr. Gregory W. Frazier. Frazier’s had a lot of history with BMW GS machines through his decades of adventure riding and writing about the scene, and also roadraced successfully on a BMW. He’ll be presenting a talk titled Having Fun With GS’s Since 1981. Jocelin Snow, competitor and host of the GS Trophy and contributor to the New England Backcountry Discovery Route will also be presenting. When all that’s done, the show will wrap up with Bob announcing winners for various prizes (social media contest, scavenger hunt, etc.).

For full details, head over to Bob’s BMW’s website, and again—remember to pre-register. You won’t get a login link if you don’t.
