GIVI updates Canyon luggage line

Italian aftermarket manufacturer GIVI has just announced its new 2021 line, but it’s all still pretty mysterious, since there’s no English-language press release. However, thanks to the miracle of Google Translate, we can get a rough picture of what’s coming next season.

The new Canyon luggage line is closely related to GIVI’s old Gravel-T Canyon luggage, it seems. For 2021, GIVI has a new saddlebag base (GRT721) which looks very similar to the old Wolfman Rolie designs. Like those systems, the GRT721 base is designed to strap into place over a motorcycle’s tail section. From there, you strap bags to that base.

GIVI already has other luggage in its GRT line that appears to be compatible with this system. There are some new additions, though, including the GRT721B bag. This waterproof soft duffle has 40-liter capacity, and can be easily carried around by its handles once you remove it from the motorcycle. It’s got MOLLE attachment points on the outside, to make it easier to attach to the bike, or to attach other equipment to the bag.

The GRT722 soft bags also attach to the new saddlebag base. These are smallish 8-liter bags, designed to be used on enduro bikes. They also work as additions to engine crash bars, and can even be mounted on the outside of other GIVI luggage systems, expanding luggage capacity. They’re IPX5-rated, with waterproof rolltop closure.

GIVI also came out with the new GRT720 soft saddlebags, designed to fit to Monokey racks. In the past, GIVI’s Monokey racks were only aimed at hard cases. The GRT720 bags are a move towards quick-release soft luggage, which is gaining a lot of popularity in the adventure market. They’re made from 1680D fabric with a plastic backing that attaches to the racks. They have a roll-top closure, lots of adjustable straps and exterior pockets, and exterior mounting points for other accessory bags. There’s also a set of removable internal reinforcements to stiffen the bottom of the bag. The outer fabric has a waterproof coating, and the inside has a fluorescent yellow IPX5-rated inner bag for weather resistance.

We don’t have any pricing for these bags yet, or anticipated arrival date, but we’d expect these bags to be available in early 2021.
