Electric motorcycle manufacturer Energica is upping its ante. The Italian manufacturer’s electric motorcycles already have some of the best-claimed performance figures of all the larger brands. But that isn’t apparently enough.

It seems that Enegica’s role as the sole manufacturer of MotoE series bikes is paying performance dividends. They are announcing that its entire model lineup can accelerate faster than ever thanks to its new RS package. “RS” stands for Reparto Sportivo, which means “Sport Department.”

Energica’s MotoE Experience

Energica’s Chief Technical Officer Giampiero Testoni had this to say about the company’s MotoE experience:

“These first two seasons of MotoE have helped to create a huge amount of experience that is constantly being transferred to our road models. From Race to Road we continue to dictate the pace of excellence in our field, and the innovations we present this year are a prime example of this.”

According to Energica’s press release, RS version bikes have a different VCU. The new VCU implements “new mapping and parameterization” derived from the company’s MotoE experience.

With the RS package installed, Energica says, its bikes will now accelerate from 0-60mph in 2.6 seconds. That’s serious acceleration.

The RS package is available across Energica’s entire model range, which consists of the 150 mph (241 km/h) Ego+, the 125 mph (201 km/h) streetfighter Eva Ribelle, and the 125 mph (201 km/h) retro-styled Eva EsseEsse9.

The RS versions of the bikes can be ordered in November. Each of the machines features Fast Charging technology, 4.3’’ TFT color display dashboard, Regina (15/44) 525 O-Ring Chain, Traction Control, Cruise Control, and Park Assistant as standard features. A USB port will be standard on the Eva Ribelle RS and Eva EsseEsse9+. It will be optional on the Ego+ RS.
