advrider Adaugat pe 28 Aprilie, 2021 Share Adaugat pe 28 Aprilie, 2021 It seems that the Vance & Hines drag racing team is back… with a vengeance. After Harley-Davidson pulled the plug on its long-term sponsorship, the fate of the Vance & Hines drag racing effort was not clear. But the Vance & Hines team could not sit on the sidelines. They returned to NHRA drag racing with a single rider team. With Angelle Sampey as their sole pilot, the team started its 2021 drag racing season. Revised Vance & Hines team But now, Vance & Hines is announcing that they will field a three-rider team. NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champions Andrew Hines and Eddie Krawiec will campaign throughout the remainder of the NHRA season. The added duo will start at the Southern Nationals. Both riders will ride on NHRA approved Buell 1190RX bodied motorcycles. Powering the machines will be Vance & Hines’ new VH160VT v-twin engine. However, Angelle Sampey’s machine will continue to use Vance & Hines’ Suzuki-based Inline 4 power. Hines and Krawiec return Both Hines and Krawiec are excited to be back racing in the NHRA. “It was hard to sit out the beginning of the 2021 NHRA season. Not having a helmet at the starting line was an odd feeling, but both Eddie and I had our hands full at the RDC [Vance & Hines Racing Development Center]. It was important for the business that we launch our two new racing engines and the components that our customers need. When we went to the NHRA events in Florida and Nevada, it was great to see our engines perform, but I really wanted to grab my gear and be on the track.” As for Eddie Krawiec: “We both felt like fish out of water. As cool as it is to create two new motors for the racing community, it’s even more exciting to be on the track using the new V-Twin engine.” Vance & Hines’ President Mike Kennedy added: “There’s no better example of how important racing is to the work we do. Andrew and Eddie help create and launch two of our most important new products, and now they will be at the track using them at the highest level of motorcycle drag racing. No other company has the talent and the experience that we have at Vance & Hines.” It’s great to see the team return to drag racing in a big way. And, it’s clear that they are committed to racing and developing new products using racing as the final arbiter of their performance products.
