With the Yamaha Tenere 700 finally reaching most markets in 2020, the aftermarket industry is busy preparing new add-on parts to beef the machine up, or make it more comfortable. Touratech has been hard at work in recent months, and it’s just taken the wraps off a new seat, crash bars and skid plate for the middleweight Yamaha.

The new Comfort seat is your standard aftermarket saddle; Touratech started by changing out the foam, and then re-shaped the seat. It’s the usual offroad compromise, narrowed in the front to allow the rider to get up on the pegs more easily, and widened in the back to make long miles easier. The cover is changed to keep the seams off pressure points, and Touratech used Fresh Touch coating on the fabric to repel UV rays and make the seat cooler on sunny days.

One of the main reasons riders change saddles is to lower their seat height. With that in mind, Touratech offers a low, standard and even a tall version of this seat. Pricing starts around $800 in the US, but you might save some money if you import it from Europe, where it’s listed around $525.

The Touratech website is filling up with a decent amount of farkles for the T7 now. Along with the new seat, Touratech recently announced a form-fitted skid plate ($450, yikes!) and new upper-fairing crash bars ($330). Of course, you can also fit Touratech’s semi-universal Zega cases, if you buy the T7-specific rack, and there’s an aluminum headlight guard, wraparound hand guards, adjustable windshield and plenty of other useful bits. Touratech’s even developed suspension upgrades for the Tenere 700 already. For a look at the complete line, check out Touratech’s website. Be forewarned, it’s not cheap stuff!
