Both the front and rear turn signals do not meet the U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). According to Ducati, due to an error on this bike model’s bill of material, the motorcycles were assembled with the incorrect front and rear turn signal indicators. As a result, the turn signal indicators do not meet the “effective projected luminous lens area requirements” required by the FMVSS No. 108. A total of two hundred twenty motorcycles have this defect. Production particulars Production Dates : FEB 05, 2021 – APR 03, 2021VIN Range 1 : Begin : ML0KAFPM8MT004187 – End : ML0KAFPM1MT004600 – VINs are not sequential Hazard The faulty turn signals may not allow traffic to notice the front and rear turn signal indications. Accordingly, this could lead to an increased risk of a crash and injury/death. Remedy Ducati North America will notify dealers and owners of this recall in accordance with the notification schedule. Dealers will install different front and rear turn signals, free of charge. The recall will be published to dealers via the Ducati Dealer Network using the established communication process. Ducati estimates that the recall contact process for the affected motorcycle owners will occur during June 2021. Current plans call for owners to be notified between June 23, 2021 and June 30, 2021.
