advrider
Fieldsheer is announcing the availability of a new product line designed to keep you cooler in hot weather. The company has been in the heated clothing industry for many years. But now they believe that it is time to move into products that reduce the effects of heat. Fieldsheer says their mobile cooling products are an excellent complement to their existing heated apparel line. Mark Gandy, Co-CEO of Fieldsheer, said: “We design smart apparel built for the avid outdoorsman, the construction worker, the soccer mom, and the everyday person who lives in cold weather. As a pioneer in the heated motorcycle space and now heated workwear and outerwear, we wanted to bring comfort year around. Mobile Cooling will give Fieldsheer a complete, year-round clothing solution for our customers.” Mobile Cooling lineup Fieldsheer’s new mobile cooling apparel lineup uses several technologies to generate cooling properties and other benefits. The key to Fieldsheer’s mobile cooling products is drirelease®. Reduction in temperature resulting from the evaporation of a liquid, which removes latent heat from the surface from which evaporation takes place. Drirelease® does not use chemicals of any kind. It’s not something applied to the surface of the fabric. Its cooling properties are built into each thread. Fieldsheer uses an engineered blend of 85% – 90% hydrophobic (water-repelling) and 10% – 15% hydrophilic (water absorbing) fibers. According to Fieldsheer, the built-in combination of fibers pulls moisture and perspiration away from the skin. The moisture then moves to the exterior of the fabric, where it can evaporate quickly. Other technologies Fieldsheer says its garments use other technologies to enhance the garment’s cooling effects, eliminate moisture and odor and preserve the garment’s integrity. Other technologies incorporated into Fieldsheer’s mobile cooling garments include: Sweatsheer™: Sweat can dampen a cloth, penetrating the fabrics and leaving the wearer wet. Fieldsheer’s Sweatsheer moisture-wicking technology helps keep skin dry as the sweat is moved away from the skin to ensure hours of sweat-free comfort. Odorsheer™: The company incorporated Odorsheer technology to combat bacteria and microbes, which can infiltrate clothing causing odor, color fading, and a short garment lifespan. Odorsheer™ Anti-Odor technology helps combat odor by preventing bacteria from growing, improving freshness, supporting hygiene, and offering excellent odor control. Plus, Odorsheer is a non-sensitizing formula that will not irritate the skin. Sweatsheer™ technology combines with our other proprietary fabric technologies to create garments that naturally draw perspiration away from the skin. Sunsheer™: Also included in many garments, Sunsheer™ UPF+ fabric technology provides a protective barrier to the sun’s harmful UVA/UVB radiation. Exposure to UV rays can cause premature aging of the skin and signs of sun damage such as wrinkles, leathery skin, liver spots, actinic keratosis, and solar elastosis. Our garments with drirelease® provide UPF50 protection that reduces the wearer’s skin UV radiation exposure by 50 times (97% UV block) in areas where the fabric covers the skin Hydrologic™: Many of the garments feature Hydrologic technology, which creates a reduction in body temperature resulting from the evaporation of a liquid. This removes latent heat from the surface from which the evaporation takes place. Fieldsheer’s Hydrologic material is a unique fabric that absorbs and slowly releases water, protecting the wearer against heat stress. How well does it work? There are many cooling garments available to the motorcycling public. So it will be interesting to see how well Fieldsheer’s new mobile cooling garments compare. drirelease® is built into each garment thread. Fieldsheer says they are sending us some garments to try. Once we’ve had the opportunity to test them this summer, we’ll provide a review. There’s more information on Fieldsheer’s Mobile Cooling garments on their website.
