advrider
Ducati is on a roll. After the Italian manufacturer had a roller-coaster 2020 sales season, it’s back full-steam for 2021, with sales growth over the first half of the year, and a record sales month. According to Ducati, the month of June, 2021, was the company’s best in history, with 8,598 units sold worldwide. And, it seems the good times will keep on rolling, as there are many more motorcycles on order: The order portfolio (motorcycles to be delivered) is the highest ever recorded by the company at the end of the first half, with + 63% compared to the same period in 2020 and a growth of + 284% compared to 2019. The growth over 2019’s numbers is particularly important. Ducati saw big growth in the first half of 2021 when compared to 2020’s numbers, but you’d expect that. Ducati’s sales in the first six months of 2021 were up 43 percent over the first six months of 2020, but considering COVID-19 had shut the Italian moto industry down for weeks last year, along with dealers worldwide, it would have been more shocking if the brand hadn’t seen a massive sales boost. However, the increase over 2019 numbers shows this is not just an expected post-pandemic recovery, but instead a continuation of a long Ducati trend. Year over year, the brand is seeing big increases in sales. The gains are even more impressive when you realize Ducati is getting this done despite big, gaping holes in the global supply chain. Indeed, the press release mentions “great complexity recorded in the supply sector and transport, with delays in deliveries and a scarcity of various raw materials, and the difficulties generated by the many lockdowns experienced in these first six months of 2021.” The new Multistrada V4 adventure bike was Ducati’s most popular bike in the first half of the year, the press release says. Interesting—looks like there is indeed a market for the radar-enabled adaptive cruise control system. Vezi sursa
