advrider
Kawasaki has released another video teasing its new retro Z650 model. And this time, we get a clear side view of about two-thirds of the machine. Unfortunately, the glimpse only lasts for about a second. But don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. This second Kawasaki teaser video is only 16 seconds long. But less than a second of it is all you need to gain a pretty clear view of the new machine. But therein lies the rub. You literally see the bike for less than a second. It’s almost like the old days with subliminal messaging they tried in movie theatres to get you to buy more popcorn and candy. Most people said the subliminal ads were not effective. But apparently, Kawasaki thinks that it is good for creating interest. We almost always want what we can’t have, and it got me to pay attention even though I’m really not into retro bikes. And sure as heck, it does look very retro. Just the round headlight, spoked wheels, chrome front fender, and engine shape all scream 1970s. A screengrab from Kawasaki’s teaser for the retro Z650. Kawasaki is pushing the Z650 under the moniker Retrovolution. A revolution usually takes more than one event, and it makes me wonder if Kawasaki has many more retro models in its pipeline. Does anyone care to see a new Retrovolution Z1? I’d raise my hand for that one. If you are interested in the new machine, you won’t have to wait long to see it in all its glory. Kawasaki will reveal the bike in full on September 27, 2021. I wonder what the MSRP will be? What do you think it will list for, and what would you pay for one?
