Advpulse
Published on 10.26.2021 American Honda has launched a safety recall on certain 2021 Trail 125 (CT125A) motorcycles. It is estimated that a total of 2,181 units are affected by the recall filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). According to the defect report, the gearshift pedal arm was not properly assembled due to faulty welding. This is a safety risk since it may cause the pedal to fail and completely break off while the motorcycle is in operation. Honda will be mailing letters to owners of affected units starting in November, advising them to make an appointment with an authorized Honda dealer for repair. To fix the issue, dealers will replace the gearshift pedal assembly completely free of charge. Honda has also issued a “stop sale” directive on all affected units currently in dealer inventory until the appropriate repair process has been implemented.
