The AFT series has another $800,000 more to hand out to racers this year; riders in three classes are eligible for more than $3.1 million in contingency awards. To be more precise, AFT now has $3,152,700 in available contingency awards, $810,0050 more than was offered for 2021’s racing. The increase provides class by class increases of more than $200,000 each; riders in the premier class, Mission SuperTwins, are receiving a $300,000 increase. The contingency funding for the 2022 season is as follows: $1,752,850 for Mission SuperTwins presented by S&S Cycle $657,200 for Mission Production Twins presented by Vance & Hines $742,650 for Parts Unlimited AFT Singles presented by KICKER AFT’s contingency program rewards teams and riders based on their results in AFT events and the championship with cash awards from companies with approved products. Gene Crouch, COO of Progressive American Flat track had this to say about AFT’s contingency program: With more than $3,000,000 on the line in 2022, there is no doubt that the drama and excitement will be at an all-time high at every step of the 69th season of America’s Original Extreme Sport. We’d like to thank all of the partners that have pledged their support for the paddock this year. Their support amounts to a direct investment in the teams and riders that put on the incredible racing each weekend, and for that we are truly thankful. Participating contingency partners You can thank some OEMs for the increase in available contingency funding. The contingency money for 2022 is possible with funding from Harley-Davidson, Honda, Husqvarna, Indian Motorcycle, Kawasaki, KTM, and Yamaha. Other partners like Arai Helmet, Dunlop Motorcycle Tires, S&S Cycle, Vance & Hines, Mission Foods, Parts Unlimited, Al Lamb’s Dallas Honda, and Mobile View provided some cash as well.
