advrider
Three MotoGP world champions will become “Legends” in 2022. Five-time MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo, four-time World Champion Max Biaggi, and four-time World Champion Hugh Anderson will get their day in the spotlight when they are formally inducted into the MotoGP Hall of Fame. Their inductions were to take place earlier. However, COVID’s impact delayed their entrance into the Hall until such a time that induction ceremonies could be held. Now that COVID restrictions are easing, the three riders will have the opportunity to celebrate their achievements. The ceremonies will give the newest MotoGP legends the chance to enjoy the moment with family members, friends, and paddock personnel. The inductions will also allow journalists and media to attend. Since COVID restrictions vary, each installation will have separate locations and dates. Jorge Lorenzo During his time in the sport, Jorge Lorenzo took five world championships, two in the 250 cc two-stroke era and three in the premier MotoGP class. His induction ceremony has already taken place. It was held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Jerez Circuit. Max Biaggi Next up will be Max Biaggi. Biaggi won four 250 cc two-stroke championships, although he never won a premier class world championship. His rivalry with current MotoGP Legend and Hall of Famer Valentino Rossi marked a fiery battle between the two competitors. Biaggi’s induction will take place during this year’s Mugello MotoGP round. Hugh Anderson The third name going into the Hall of Fame this year is that of Kiwi GP and TT racer Hugh Anderson. Racing in the 1960’s Hugh won four Grand Prix championships in the 50 cc and 125 cc categories. Two of his titles came in the same year, 1963. Anderson’s induction ceremony is not yet final. However, it will likely occur at the Phillip Island circuit later this year. Vezi sursa
