advrider
Honda’s announced a big chunk of its 2022 lineup for the US, and a couple of 2023 models as well. Along with several street bikes, Honda also confirms the CRF300L dual sport, the CRF300 Rally, the CT125 “adventure scooter” and the XR650L are all coming back as 2022 models. There wasn’t much doubt that the 300-series duallies would be back, as they’re very hot sellers right now, and the industry continues to ramp up aftermarket support (over in the UK, Adventure Spec is supposedly announcing a new parts line for the 300 soon). In many ways, the 300s have taken over the space that the 650 thumpers used to dominate, as the versatile everyman’s adventure machine. In the UK and EU, where the 650 models mostly disappeared years ago, the 300 absolutely dominates as an affordable mount for even the RTW set. High-profile adventure travel stories from riders like Itchy Boots and before her, Austin Vince and Steph Jeavons, have certainly helped this cause. The CRF300L and CRF300 Rally both come with a red paint job for 2022, and a starting MSRP of $5,349 and $6,099 respectively (both bikes have an ABS option for another $300). Here in North America, the 650 class isn’t dead yet, though—Honda also confirmed the XR650L returns for 2022. This is nothing short of amazing, as this final surviving entry in Honda’s long history of big-bore thumpers has been around since 1992, making this 30 years for the last of the Big Red Pigs. Except, for 2022, it’s getting a white paint job … The CT125 is also returning, which is no surprise, as there was tons of demand for this easy-to-ride scooter last year. It comes with red paint for 2022, a $3,999 price tag, and like the rest of this lineup, it’s supposed to be available in April. And, there’s the problem; while some dealerships will have stock available, supply chain issues will mean wait lists at others. If you’re looking for a new Honda this season, or any other dual sport/ADV machine, you’d be well-advised to get your deposit in soon. Honda also confirmed the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, CBR650R, CB650R, and PCX scooter return for 2022, and the 2023 Grom is also available in coming days. As well, Honda announced the Montesa Cota 4RT301RR Race Replica and 4RT260R trials bikes for 2022. More details at Honda.com.
