advrider
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation is announcing the expansion of its Adventure Bike Rider Course. It’s a one-day course that includes riding and discussions on a dirt training range. To attend, you must bring your own adventure or dual-sport motorcycle. The training is open to licensed motorcycle riders with experience in street-based riding. However, students do not have to have any off-road riding experience to participate. The Adventure Bike Rider Course provides training in 12 fundamental skills that adventure riders should master for riding their bikes on unpaved surfaces. In addition, participants will receive training on topics such as riding on low-traction surfaces, emphasizing body positioning, and rider-active control techniques needed for off-road environments. Image: Motorcycle Safety Foundation With its expanded training facilities, the Adventure Bike Rider Course is now available in the following states: California Colorado Florida Georgia Idaho Kansas Ohio Pennsylvania South Carolina Texas Virginia Wisconsin Some states have only one facility, while others have several. In addition to the above states, Harley-Davidson also offers the MSF Adventure Bike Rider Course curriculum in their Adventure Touring Rider Course. You can check Harley’s Adventure Touring webpage. Once there, you can locate a course near you by clicking here. So if you are new to the adventure riding scene, the MSF’s Adventure Bike Rider Course may just be the thing you need to get you safely started on your adventure riding journey. Remember, the MSF offers a wide range of rider training; along with beginner-focused learn-to-ride courses, along with this ADV-focused development program, there are other street-oriented and specialized courses listed here.
