advrider
The Yamaha Race Experience is coming to Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France. The event kicks off on September 5, 2022. According to the triple tuning fork company, the event will give R1M owners a “…once in a lifetime chance to step inside the legendary world of Yamaha Racing.” The Yamaha Riding Experience will allow R1M owners to explore their machine’s full potential. Riders attending the event will be able “…to explore the full potential of your Yamaha Supersport machine and to improve your riding skills as well as technical knowledge to fully understand your R1M.” The Yamaha YZF-R1M is the company’s flagship model. Touted as a race machine for the street, the YZF-R1M is the closest you can get to a Grand Prix machine from Yamaha. Its advanced electronics set it apart from Yamaha’s more production-oriented YZF-R1. [embedded content] The YZF-R1M’s recent racing pedigree places it at the top of the heap in a couple of different racing series. Last year, Toprak Razgatlioglu won a WorldSBK title for Yamaha. The last title for Yamaha in the WorldSBK series was taken by Ben Spies back in 2009. And Jake Gagne won the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship title last year aboard an R1. So while the YZF-R1M is not identical to the championship-winning race-only machines, it is a top-of-the-line machine capable of taking a skilled rider to the front of the pack. If you would like to finding out what you and your YZF-R1M are capable of, you may want to sign up to ride with expert instructors at the Circuit Paul Ricard, the home to the Bol d’Or 24 hour endurance race and the site of France’s Formula 1 round since 2018.
