advrider
You may remember we told you about a new location Touratech was planning to open up in Connecticut. Friends, that day has arrived. Touratech East, located in Brookfield, CT, is open for business. Their initial announcement said they were aiming to open this location in May of 2022, and here they are, just under the wire. And, we hope, just in time for the start of a really roaring motorcycle season. What They Carry Touratech East stocks motorcycle riding gear, helmets, boots, all with an adventure bent. You can walk into the place and try on your next new piece of riding kit, instead of playing the order, try-on, return game. They verifiably carry KLIM, REV’IT!, and Sidi; that’s probably not an exhaustive list. Photo: Touratech For your motorcycle, Touratech carries “crash bars, skid plates, protection items, suspension, luggage and GPS navigation.” If you’ve ever done the “will this fit my bike” dance with parts, perhaps this location can help you out. Have a motorcycle model that’s close but not exact to the fitment listed on a given aftermarket part? Maybe this is the ticket to wander out to your bike, part in hand, to see if it really will fit or not. The CEO Says… Paul Guillien, the CEO of Touratech-USA says “we are excited about this expansion because it provides better service for our customers and allows them to experience our brand values with a retail experience. We believe this location will serve as a hub for the adventure motorcycling community on the East Coast. We’ve even partnered with Backcountry Discovery Routes to provide a retail location for BDR maps, stickers and logo-wear.” Location, Location… The Brookfield location is just up the road from an old-school (but now sadly defunct) biker location, the Marcus Dairy. If Touratech can tap into that, perhaps partner with a local ice cream shop for bike nights, maybe they could recapture some of that magic. Touratech East is also just six and a half miles (the other way) from a major BMW motorcycle dealer, MaxBMW, in New Milford, CT. That might foster a mutually beneficial relationship, right there. Further afield, the location is 55 miles from Hartford, CT; it’s 60 miles from the GW bridge. This is a good central location for all us adventurers in Greater Flugistan to plan a trip or just pop in. Distribution Center It’s also advantageous as a distribution center. Now, not everything needs to ship from Touratech-USA in Seattle. Shipping time to the east coast will be dramatically reduced. The Specifics They’re located at 67 Federal Road in Brookfield, CT. They’re open right now, and their published in-person shop hours are Tuesday – Friday: 9:30 AM – 6 PM, and Saturday from 8:30 AM – 5 PM. If you live nearby and have already popped in, tell us what you think of the place! Vezi sursa
