Ukrainian e-moto manufacturer Delfast is still in business, believe it or not—and even improving its lineup. Now, we see an updated version of its Top 3.0 e-bike, called the Top 3.0i—although “e-bike” might not actually be the proper term for this machine.

That’s because the Top 3.0i, like other Delfast machines, is far more than a simple pedal-assist machine that looks like a mountain bike from a distance. And, it’ll go a lot faster than a bicycle, and a lot faster than those crappy scooter lookalikes that you see imported en masse from China, ridden around town by DUI convictees in bicycle helmets. Delfast’s new Top 3.0i will actually go as fast as 50 mph, with a claimed 200-mile range (not at that 50 mph speed, though).

Most of this is carried over from the previous Top 3.0 model; the Top 3.0i is very similar, just “smarter.” There’s an onboard computer with an Android app tied to that hardware, and this allows the rider to track mileage/odometer/speedometer details, to monitor onboard power, to lock or unlock the bike and arm or disarm the alarm, to locate the bike with a “Find my Bike” function and even serve as a movement notifier. If someone’s messing with your bike, you’ll know, thanks to push notifications on your phone. The app also allows riders to take the bike out of its Level 2 power mode (limiting speed to 20 mph from 750-watt motor output) into an unlimited mode that’s specifically aimed at off-road use, with that previously-mentioned 50 mph limit from a 5000-watt motor output.

And, there’s still a set of pedals, if you need to get home sans battery.

Below, you can see the release video for the original Top 3.0, and you can see the spec sheet here. Note that while this is definitely an urban-aimed vehicle, it’s intended to be able to handle light trail duty, with 19-inch wheels and semi-knobby tires.

Asking price for the Delfast Top 3.0i is $6,999 US, and pricing rises as you add options. More details at the company’s website.
