advrider
Beta is back for 2023 with an overhauled dual sport lineup, that the company says was originally designed for the US market only. However, since these machines are based on Beta’s enduro series, we’re guessing you can get pretty much the exact same bike in Canada or the EU; these are basically dirt bikes with DOT-approved lighting. The new RR-S lineup includes a 350, 390, 430, and 500, which are all pretty similar, and all priced within a few hundred bucks. The series is $11,499.00, $11,599.00, $11,699.00, $11,799.00 respectively, in the US—a $500 price hike from 2022. Engine capacity is the only notable difference between any of these models, so it makes sense they’re priced within the same range. Note that those MSRPs do not include tax, setup fees, etc. The biggest news for 2023: Beta’s street-legal machines now have traction control, which was introduced to the company’s racebikes last year. This is switchable by a button on top of the fuel tank—it can be turned off at any time, and the bike’s two engine maps each have individual TC settings, meaning there are four power delivery configurations available. Beta also installed the Trail Tech Voyager computer on each bike, with GPS function, trip meter, tach, temp gauges and other functions. Photo: Beta Since these bikes are all based on the RR series, they have the same linkage-type rear suspension as those dirt-only bikes, with Sachs/ZF shock. The ZF fork internals are updated to reduce oil cavitation, and there’s more range of damping adjustment as well. The looks are updated, with a whole lot more red paint, and the rad shrouds are more narrow, which lets the rider shift around the bike more easily, particularly when moving forward while cornering. Of course, these update the bikes’ looks as well. For more deets, check out Beta’s US website. The new bikes are supposed to be available in November.
