advrider
When MV Agusta debuted the Lucky Explorer 5.5 and Lucky Explorer 9.5 models at EICMA in 2021, they looked great. Retro-style desert bikes, packed with modern technology and an all-new three-cylinder engine (for the 9.5 model)? Sign us up! But months later, the bikes aren’t on the market yet, despite supposedly being production-ready at EICMA. Instead, we’ll see the Lucky Explorer 5.5 released in early 2023; it’s made in China by QJMotor, which makes it easier to get it into production, especially as it’s based on pre-existing designs. As for the Lucky Explorer 9.5, that’s supposed to hit the market in April of 2023. To keep us occupied while we wait, MV Agusta has just announced a new line of e-bikes also bearing the Lucky Explorer badge. There’s the new E-enduro, made to ride technically challenging tracks, and the E-gravel, made to ride more open, smooth gravel roads. Both bikes have a carbon-fiber frame; the E-enduro has a Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 625/750-kW battery, and the E-gravel has a Mahle X20 motor drawing with a 350-kW, 36-volt battery. Both bikes have trick brakes and suspension matched to their respective tasks, along with high-end handlebars, transmission, seat, fenders, and other components. You’ll pay a lot, but you’re getting quality and performance, at least in theory. Like the Lucky Explorer gas-powered motorcycles, the E-enduro and E-gravel bikes are not available yet. They are already listed on the MV Agusta e-mobility website (see here), but with no price—we’re told they’re “Coming Soon.” Yeah, we’ve heard that one before … Vezi sursa
