No Major Changes For Honda’s CRF Playbikes

The 2023 Honda lineup is being announced, piece by piece, and the offroad playbike lineup is getting the same treatment as the Africa Twin series, it seems. Yep, a big slathering of Bold New Graphics.

We haven’t seen this confirmed for North American customers, but the UK’s Honda newsroom posted details for the CRF50, CRF110 and CRF125 yesterday. As per the press releases:

The 23YM CRF50F receives a new graphical upgrade keeping it in line with its larger family members, the CRF250R and CRF450R

And …

The 23YM CRF110F receives a new graphical upgrade keeping it in line with its larger family members, the CRF250R and CRF450R

And …

The 23YM CRF125F receives a new graphical upgrade keeping it in line with its larger family members, the CRF250R and CRF450R

So, your kids might not get any power boost for next year, but at least they’ll look like they’re riding a bigger bike. Honda says the bikes all have “a striking all red paint scheme and bold new graphics to celebrate Honda’s off-road racing pedigree.” Uh, weren’t these bikes red before? You’re not going to look any more like Johnny Campbell than you did in 2021.

At this end of the moto spectrum, more power isn’t really what most parents are looking for anyway—they’re concerned about pricing, safety and reliability. For that reason, no news of changes is probably good news for moms and dads. With both the CRF110 and CRF125 now featuring fuel injection as of their last update, there’s less faffing about than ever. These bikes are better than they’ve ever been before, arguably, so the need for constant updates isn’t really there.
