Roustabout Elvis Presley liked to indulge his taste in fast cars and, perhaps, not so fast (but quite comfortable) motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons, and now his last Harley is headed to auction. Some think it could be the first motorcycle to top $1 million at auction, beating out a Vincent Black Shadow that came oh-so-close to the mark at just over $900,000 not too long ago.

The King’s last Harley is a like-new 1976 Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide, a 750-pound, 58-horsepower hunk of (oil) burning love that Presley rode a scant 126 miles before handing it off to a museum. Elvis died the next year. The FLH sat caged in glass for the next three decades before selling at auction for about $800,000 in 2019. Now, it’s back on the market.

Critical question: Seeing how it’s from the low point of an era when Harley’s were not known for their, uh, reliability, does it even run? Apparently so, according to current auction hosts GWS who claim they have a video of it ticking over, although efforts to find the video were unsuccessful (it could be a private listing).

More questions: What is up with that seat? Well, a big seat that ran up onto the gas tank was a thing back then, so feel free to change it out after placing the winning bid. And if you do happen to reel in this iconic cruiser, Elvis’s daughter Priscilla will write you a note that the bike did indeed belong to Mr. Blue Christmas and that you should ride it like you stole it, even if it does cost a million bucks. At least, that’s what we’d hope she writes.

Got some spare GME stock to cash out and reel in this not-so-lean machine? Head on over to the auction site and peruse the many terrible photos they have of the FLH, and good luck bidding. If you come in second, don’t worry, his Lincoln Continental limo and private jet (which is far, far from airworthiness) are also on the block.
