In a recent press release, Energica Motor, a company known mostly for its high-performance electric motorcycles, confirms that Energica Week 2022 will be held September 5th to 9th, 2022. This is the second year for the now annual event. The Italian manufacturer says Energica Week is “…the main event for the entire circle of Energica owners worldwide.”

The event’s week-long festivities will begin with a ribbon cutting on Monday, September 5, at Energica Headquarters, located in Modena, the heart of Italy’s “Motor Valley.” After the ceremony, visitors will have the opportunity to tour Energica’s newly expanded headquarters space. The new build nearly doubles the existing factory space to 8,000 square meters (about 86,000 square feet).

The build is based on Energica’s forecasts for the future. They believe they will need the additional space for sales of existing models, including the newly launched Experia electric touring bike, which we reviewed not too long ago. Sales of Energica’s bikes have been good in the U.S. and Energica’s “Rest of the World” markets. These sales are enabling Energica to boost its workforce by 20 percent.

Remaining Energica Week activities

September 7th: The event’s second day will be dedicated to Energica’s #StayChargedEDU initiative. Energica plans to educate and engage the new generation of electric mobility. During this time, area schools and universities will meet with the Energica technical department for a joint discussion on projects and ideas.

September 8th – 9th: The final two days will mark the Energica Owners Gathering. Energica owners will spend a couple of days at the Modena race track. Energica says there will be “…several activities on the track and outside.”

One of those activities will provide 15 “skilled riders” a training stint aboard “… genuine MotoE Ego Corsa race motorcycles inside the Energica Academy…” In addition, other owners will be allowed to test Energica’s latest model, the Experia Tourer.

Energica says that there will be other collateral activities to follow. These activities will ensure a full “Energica Experience.” The electric moto manufacturer goes on to say:

“The Energica story embodies several generations of craftsmanship and technology maturity from the traditional automotive industry in the Italian Motor Valley. Energica is taking the best of the past, present and future to move towards a new sustainable world. Customers will experience Energica’s dedication to them at its peak during Energica Week. They will also ride on the Energica special factory tours.”

In the same press release, Energica explains how it is doing in the U.S. and the rest of the world.

In the U.S. market:

  • Retail sales year-to-date are five times greater than the previous year.
  • Nine new dealer agreements have expanded Energica’s U.S. network from 14 to 25 dealers, including six new states: ColoradoHawaiiNew JerseyNew MexicoUtah, and Washington State.
  • Experia pre-sale deposits have been brisk, totaling over two months’ worth of Experia production.

For the rest of the world

  • Energica is seeing a retail sales increase of 104% year-to-date compared to the previous year. There is also an additional two months’ production for the Experia for rest of the world customer orders.
  • The dealer network has been expanded to 95 dealers, including more dealers in existing key markets of FranceGermany, and the U.K.
  • Energica is entering new markets, including AustraliaEastern EuropePortugal, Pakistan, and Nepal.
  • Energica is setting its sights on government authorities around the world. They believe that their machines will enable government organizations to replace their fossil fuel-powered motorcycles with Energica bikes.

Finally, Energica discussed one of the main factors that have spurred the company’s growth. It has launched a new business unit, Energica Inside. The unit is developing new technologies for powertrain components and modular powertrain systems. And they are not only planning to use that technology on the road. They are also targeting sea, aerial transport, and individual industrial applications. As a result, Energica says that it “…has become the first point of reference for high-performance vehicles and also for the supply of modular components and power units to provide system integration for electric vehicles.”

Energica claims it is becoming “…a driving force for a new generation of original equipment Manufacturers, and that is what Energica Week wants to celebrate.” With Government regulations moving towards the elimination of fossil fuel powered mobility, Energica looks to be preparing for an electric mobility future.
