The Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is finally due to be delivered from November this year, but the first special version has already been presented. Based on the Mandello, a limited edition called Aviazione Navale was launched in mid-September. Themed around the fighter aircraft division of the Italian Navy, which was founded in 1913, this edition is limited to 1913 bikes. The connection between the two is a friend of Moto Guzzi founders Carlo Guzzi and Giorgio Parodi. He was the fighter pilot Giovanni Ravelli, who was also involved in creating the company, but died in an accident in 1919.

Moto Guzzi’s trademark eagle with its spread wings is a tribute to Ravelli, and now so is the Aviazione Navale. The 1913 bikes will be painted fighter jet grey, modeled on the current F-35B fighter jet. The more than 100-year bond between Moto Guzzi and the Italian Navy was celebrated in mid-September 2022 at Civitavecchia on the deck of the Italian aircraft carrier Cavour with the world premiere of the V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale.

Each bike’s handlebar clamp features the serial number engraved by laser. As an addition, each proud owner will receive a commemorative plaque and a correspondingly printed bike cover. Further extras on this Limited Edition include grip heating, tyre pressure sensors and the front fairing with adaptive aerodynamic elements. Standard equipment on the V100 includes cornering ABS, traction control, LED lights and a color display with Bluetooth connectivity. Optional extras include a Quickshifter and semi-active Öhlins suspension.

For the first time in the brand’s more than 100-year history, by a liquid-cooled V-twin powers the completely newly developed V100. The cylinder angle (90 degrees) and the installation position (crankshaft longitudinal, cylinder transverse) remain typically Moto Guzzi. The Mandello’s 1042cc V-twin produces 115 hp at 8,800rpm and 77 lb-ft of torque at 6,750 rpm.

No price for the V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale has been announced, but the standard Mandello sells for 15,499 Euros.
