ARCH Motorcycles Releases 1s Muscle Bike

Several months after laying out its plans for future models, ARCH Motorcycles has finally released the new 1s muscle bike, and if you have $128,000 (or more), and you live in the US, you can order one.

In case you’ve forgotten, ARCH Motorcycles is the side project of actor/musician Keanu Reeves. He runs the company in conjunction with Gard Hollinger; so far, ARCH has focused on cruiser-style bikes with big V-twin engines, and the new 1s another installment on that formula. ARCH calls it a performance cruiser, and it is definitely more sporty than the original KRGT-1 from ARCH.

That starts with the engine. Once again, ARCH partners with S&S. The 45-degree fuel-injected 124ci V-twin puts out a claimed 115 lb-ft of torque, a boost over the KRGT-1, and certainly enough to light up that rear tire. The engine comes with dry clutch, and what ARCH calls a “proprietary six-speed drivetrain.”

The real question is, can ARCH build a motorcycle that’s made to handle? A new set of mid-mount controls should certainly help here, although the bike is still a cruiser at heart, not a supersport. Dry weight is a claimed 563 lb, which tells you a lot about its capabilities.

However, there’s a set of 17-inch carbon-fibre front and rear wheels from BST, with Michelin Power RS rubber. For suspension, you get a fully-adjustable fork and shock from Ohlins. ISR supplies six-piston monobloc radial mount calipers up front, with floating dampened discs, and a six-piston monobloc radial mount caliper with semi-floating disc in rear.

And, there’s a new single-sided swingarm, made of billet aluminum. This is the first ARCH model to sport this look.

Interested, and got the coin to buy one? Even if you don’t have the money (remember, $128K is just the starting point—adding options drives up the price!), you can find more details at ARCHMotorcycle.com. See test footage of the bike below, from its initial announcement:
