advrider
Ducati recently announced an updated Ducati Panigale V4 for 2023. On the heels of that announcement, Ducati is announcing similar updates for its 2023 Ducati Streetfighter V4 S and SP2 versions. This time around, the Streetfighter V4 gets slightly more power, with hp rising from 205 hp to 208 hp. In addition, the updated machine receives the benefit of Ducati’s latest Panigale electronics package. New Streetfighter Electronics As a result, the new Streetfighter V4 now comes equipped with a new Wet Riding Mode for more grip on low-adhesion surfaces. In addition, Ducati says that the Streetfighter V4 has better stability provided by its Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO 2 software. The new program is said to optimize engine braking based on the load at the bike’s rear. Ducati’s Quick Shift (DQS) has also been reworked for improved shifting at all throttle settings. Ducati says it has taken “new engine delivery strategies” with its Full, High, Medium, and Low engine modes. In Low, max power is limited to 165 hp to help the bike cope with low grip surfaces. In addition, the bike’s Medium, High and Full power modes receive recalibrated Ride by Wire mapping for better response. In the suspension department, the Streetfighter V4 has a semi-active suspension, a revised front frame, and a single-sided swingarm. In addition, Ducati says the fuel tank has a new layout that improves weight distribution for better handling and braking. Streetfighter V4 SP2 But perhaps the bigger news for the Streetfighter V4 is that for 2023, Ducati has an SP2 version of the machine. The SP2 version is a more track-oriented version of the 2023 Streetfighter V4 S. The SP2 gets all of the updates of the “regular” version in addition to other track-oriented enhancements. In addition, Brembo Stylema R front brake calipers increase braking performance and durability while offering more braking power and less fade during on-track exploits. Ducati has also optimized its STM-EVO SBK dry clutch with an improved slipper function. There is also an available Akrapovic full racing exhaust which reduces the bike’s weight by 5 kg (from 197 kg to 192 kg) and brings power to an impressive 220 hp. Colorways There will be multiple colorways, including Ducati Red, “Grey and Nero,” and “Winter Test” livery. Grey and Nero will only be available on the “S” version of the Streetfighter V4, while the Winter Test colors will only be available on the SP2 machine. Pricing and availability As you might imagine, none of the Streetfighters will be cheap. Pricing in the US begins with an MSRP of $22,095 for the Streetfighter V4 in the Ducati Red colorway. The Streetfighter V4 S starts at $27,595 in Ducati Red and $27,795 for the Grey/Nero color. The Streetfighter V4 SP2 will have an MSRP of $37,995 in its Winter Test livery. For Canada, the Streetfighter V4 starts at an MSRP of $27,295 CAD for the Ducati Red. The Streetfighter V4 S will start at an MSRP of $31,395 for Ducati Red and $31,595 CAD for Grey and Nero. Finally, the SP2 version will start with an MSRP of $47,995 CAD in its Winter Test livery. Each of the three versions will appear in U.S. and Canadian dealerships starting in Spring 2023.
