Let the teasers begin! Triumph Motorcycle has just released the first sneak peek video of their upcoming dirt bike platform. The short but informative video gives a tantalizing glimpse into the innovative design and exceptional craftsmanship that Triumph has in store with Ricky Carmichael and team revealing the new frame for the first time.

Following the company’s earlier announcements about the imminent launch of their all-new dirt bike and dual-sport motorcycles, the newly-released teaser video marks the first in a series of clips leading up to the official launch of our new Motocross bike later this year.

With input from top racers, engineers have been working hard to develop a track-competitive machine that will have stability and rigidity yet retain good bump absorption and versatility for a range of different rider styles. As the video reveals, finding that balance led the team to choose an aluminum spine frame for the project. Moreover, the frame is completely hand-welded and designed from the ground up in what they state is not a copy of anybody else’s frame.

“It’s taken some time but our benchmark was very high,” says off-road legend Ricky Carmichael, one of the big forces behind the development and testing of the machines.

While the video focuses on the chassis, it leaves ample room for speculation and excitement about other components that will likely be unveiled in the subsequent videos. The next video in the series will focus on the engine. It remains to be seen if the company’s dedication to performance and innovation allows them to produce something unique in the highly-competitive motocross/off-road motorcycle market. Triumph has already stoked curiosity among the adventure motorcycling community with the possibilities for a lightweight, high-capable dual sport motorcycle that will be based on the same design.

Unfortunately, Triumph is still not showing the full bike and keeping technical details of the upcoming enduro models under wraps. So far, the UK brand has revealed that there will be a variety of engine sizes with street-legal machines in the mix. “We have a range of motocross and a range of enduro motorcycles in development. The enduro motorcycles will be road registrable, but the motocross bikes will be pure off-road performance motorcycles,” revealed Chief Product Officer, Steve Sargent to MCN.
