Yamaha Introduces Tenere 700 ‘Extreme’ For 2024

Yamaha has expanded their popular Tenere 700 range yet again, this time with a model the manufacturer says is “aimed at riders with motocross or enduro experience who want added performance.” Dubbed the Tenere ‘Extreme,’ the fresh model boasts premium KYB suspension and a range of dirt-focused chassis components while taking the standard model to new hs with more ground clearance than any of the previous variants.

For bump absorption, the Ténéré 700 Extreme features premium fully-adjustable KYB suspension systems with 20 mm extra travel front and rear for a total of 9.1 inches (230 mm) and 8.7 inches (220 mm) respectively. For smooth front suspension action, the 43 mm forks are treated with a durable Kashima coating that helps to eliminate stiction at lower speeds plus the gold colored fork inner tube finish underlines the bike’s overall feeling of quality.

The Extreme also gets the highest ground clearance in the Tenere range; dethroning the World Rally variant at 10.2 inches (260 mm). As expected, this also contributes to raising the seat h to a whopping 35.8 inches (910 mm).

Other features include lightweight competition type titanium footrests with 35% greater surface area, an aluminum radiator protector, a flat one-piece rally seat, a chain guide and a high enduro front fender with a separate lower section to protect from dirt and debris. The whole package is finished with gold anodized aluminum spoke wheels.

For additional versatility its vertical 5-inch TFT meter features three separate themes, including a Rally Raid roadbook-style display for effective navigation in the back of beyond. A trip switch is also located on the left side switch cluster.

Yamaha has not released pricing for the Ténéré 700 Extreme but they do confirm that the new model will be available throughout Europe for the 2024 model year in Icon Blue. As you might already suspect, Yamaha has not made any announcements regarding the bike’s arrival in North America.
