advrider
I read an article the other day entitled – 10 Overrated Motorcycle Features. It contained a list of 10 items that some manufacturers use as selling points for their machines. In the article, the author named 10 “features” that he suggested “…may seem fancy and useful, but realistically, they are overrated and unnecessary.” After reading the headline, I decided to see which features made his list. Starting with the 10 least “overrated and unnecessary” in inverse order, they are as follows: Bluetooth Connectivity Colorful TFT Displays Keyless Ignition Spoked Wheels Ridiculous Horsepower Figures For Road Bikes Carbon Fiber or Magnesium Anything Single Sided Swingarms Extra Ride Modes Underseat Exhausts Winglets Unnecessary features? The article made me think he may have had a point on several of these “features.” But I was also conflicted by his conclusion that the features “…may seem fancy and useful, but realistically, they are overrated and unnecessary.” If a feature is useful, doesn’t it follow that having it on a motorcycle would be a good thing? Perhaps his use of the word “seem” offers some leeway in that he doesn’t think they are useful but only appear useful. OK, got it… Seem useful but really aren’t. So as I revisited his list, I still thought some features were useful and could offer an owner/rider a more capable and enjoyable riding experience. And I wondered what the inmates thought about these “features” and whether you felt they were useful. So the purpose of this particular discussion is to get your thoughts on this list of features and whether they are “overrated and unnecessary” or useful. In addition, tell us whether there are features that should be on this list that are not. Let us know what you think in the comments below. I’m going to guess that there will be several more added to the list. Vezi sursa
