Show Off Your Skills in the BDR Keep It 100 Film Festival

We love the Backcountry Discovery Routes. We also love the films that accompany every new route that BDR brings us. Now, they’re giving you the chance to impress them with a film of your own in the BDR Keep It 100 Film Festival.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to make a half-hour epic feature like theirs. In fact, “Keep It 100” means your film can be no longer than 100 seconds. Personally, I have trouble keeping my videos that short. Naturally, they have to take place somewhere on a BDR and focus on motorcycle travel as a theme. All content must respect the BDR mission, and all riding shown in the film must comply with the BDR Ride Right and Respectfully initiatives. Finally, any music used must be royalty-free. Beyond these simple guidelines and a short time limit, the only limit is your imagination.

This year’s panel of judges consists of Carl Parker of ADVMoto Magazine, Rob Dabney of ADVPulse, Brandon Glanville of Upshift Online, and Sterling Noren of Noren Films, a name many of us recognize as the producer of past BDR films. The public will also vote on a Community Choice award, separately from the official judges.

Winners don’t just receive internet fame, but some sweet prize packages, too. Both the Judge’s Choice and Community Choice winners will receive a $1,000 REV’IT! voucher, a BDR Gold Supporter Package, a Touratech Aventuro Carbon 2 helmet, a Sena 50R comm system, a set of DoubleTake Mirrors, and a complete set of BDR Butler Maps. Three Community Choice finalists will receive a WLF Enduro Pack vest, a $100 Gift Card to MotoCamp Nerd, a set of DoubleTake Mirrors, a complete set of BDR Butler Maps, and a CruzTools toolkit.

Don’t worry if you’re no Sterling Noren. All skill levels are encouraged to participate. The BDR team will be reviewing films based on storyline, creativity, and overall “vibe,” as well as technical proficiency. You don’t need any special equipment. A bit of creativity and your smartphone or beat-up old GoPro will work just fine. To enter, simply email your video to [email protected] by November 5, and you’ll be entered to win.
