Get this: Fresh on the heels of the new X500, X440 and X350 models launching overseas, one of India’s moto-mags is predicting an even smaller Harley-Davidson is in the works. Rushlane says Harley-Davidson is currently testing a 210 cc machine, for sale in India in the future.

Sounds a bit unlikely, at least at first. But Rushlane has photos (see them here). Maybe they’re faked… and maybe they aren’t. Rushlane says the photos came from an auto enthusiast, who apparently spotted the bike out in the wild. The mag speculates that this motorcycles uses the same engine as the recently-launched Hero Karizma XMR 210. That would mean a liquid-cooled 210 cc single-cylinder, with DOHC, four-valve top end. Despite the small size, this engine is supposed to make 25 hp and 15 lb-ft of torque.

If Harley-Davidson is actually considering a small-bore bike like this, remaking the Karizma into an H-D would make sense. Hero is Harley’s partner in India, building the X440 for them, and it would make sense for the MoCo to want the best small-cc engine it can get its hands on, if it’s indeed bold enough to make this move.

This motorcycle would almost certainly never make it to North America. Currently, Harley-Davidson says there are no plans to bring the made-in-China X500 or made-in-India X440 across the ocean, although the X500 is currently sold in Australia. That would mean that anyone who wants to try one of these bikes would have to have a go while traveling in a developing country. Maybe that’s a new fly-and-ride goal for some of us?
