advrider
America’s off-roaders had a highly successful week at the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Argentina, with two big team wins and a key second-place finish as well. The American teams took first-place in both the World Trophy championship and the Women’s World Trophy category. In the Junior World Trophy category, the US team won second-place. Sounds like quite a week, but the success doesn’t stop there. Along with the national-level teams, the ISDE also features club teams. American teams finished 1-2 in this category as well, with Team XC Gear finishing first and Team GTBN second in that class. And as far as individual riders go, Brandy Richards from the US women’s team took the overall win in her class—and she rode the final days of competition with a broken collarbone. Over in the C2 Club class, American rider Josh Toth finished first. In C1 Club class, we saw another American rider win, with Jaden Dahmers first there. It was the third-ever ISDE title for America’s World Trophy team, which saw Dante Oliveira, Taylor Robert, Johnny Girroir and Cole Martinez filling out the lineup this year—Oliveira, Robert and Girroir finished in places 3-4-5 respectively. It was the the fourth-ever title for America’s women’s team. On the women’s team, Rachel Gutish and Korie Steede rode and finished along with Richards this year. Along with Richards’ push to the top of the podium despite her injury, Gutish also had a gutsy battle, racing the last three days with broken rib and a separated shoulder. She said she pushed on because her team was relying on her and “I knew that if we wanted to win, I needed to finish.” Good stuff! Mateo Oliveira, Kai Aiello and Grant Davis rode for the Junior World Trophy team. Josh Toth, Ryan Surratt and Austin Serpa rode for XC Gear. In the World Trophy category, France finished second and Great Britain was third. In the women’s World Trophy category, Australia and then FIM Latin America finished 2-3 respectively. France won the Junior World Trophy category, with Sweden in third behind the US team. ADVrider would like to extend its congratulations to all of this year’s riders, as just getting to the ISDE is tough, but we would especially like to congratulate all the winners, and those who pushed through their injuries to keep their team in the chase!
