advrider
Look who’s back! After an initial look at the Kove 450 Rally a few days back, Dallas, Chuck Harder and Aquaman are back in action. Now, they’re giving an analysis into the issues they had with these dual sport bikes when they started testing them. Remember, they said they had some issues, but Dallas also said they bought these three bikes and are considering a whole fleet for their touring/training business. Why buy bikes that might have some niggles? Watch the video above, and Dallas seems to think that a much of what they encountered simply came down to assembly prep. Not that the assembly prep on these bikes is bad. Note Chuck Harder, who is a mechanic of considerable knowledge and talent, pointing out the QC marks on the new bikes. As he says, you usually don’t see this on made-in-China machines. See some more of Chuck Harder’s thoughts below: [embedded content] How does the Kove 450 Rally stack up against the Husqvarna 701 Enduro, arguably the apex predator of the dual sport world right now? [embedded content] And here’s a chat between Chuck and Dallas discussing the new bike: [embedded content] Whether any of this will be helpful to you, I don’t know, but I do know that we’re going to be seeing a lot more of these machines in coming months, starting with a Dakar run. With Mason Klein aboard the bike at the 2024 Dakar Rally, there will be many more eyes on the company’s efforts. The factory team got all three bikes across the finish line last year. If those three riders return on newer, better bikes, plus Klein (who is apparently not on the factory team), we expect to see at least a challenge at the top 20.
