advrider
You can tell that the motorcycle industry in general agrees with ADVrider’s assessment of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450—it’s a winner. In the months since its debut, we’ve seen the aftermarket manufacturers gear up to bring out truckloads of kit for this machine, even as Royal Enfield itself hit the market with tons of stuff for the bike. SW-Motech launched a lot of product for the bike already, and now we see competitors Hepco & Becker have done the same. Here are some highlights from our friends in Germany. Note that we haven’t put photos up because pix aren’t available for all these items yet, and prices are in Euros. For American pricing and availability, check out Moto Machines’ website here. BASIC tank ring mounting collar This allows you to put Hepco & Becker’s quick-release tankbag setup on your Royal Enfield. Although quick-release tankbags come with potential for failure, they sure are convenient on a streetbike. See it here. Headlight grille Protect your expensive factory headlight. These may reduce your headlight’s efficiency, but then, you should not be ADV riding at night anyway. And plus, you’ll get that sick old-school scrambler look, which is far more important than visibility, right? See it here. Pannier rack A beefy wraparound pannier rack that will keep your bags and boxes from getting mashed into your bike’s rear wheel. Well worth having if you want to do long-haul miles, and allows you to mount just about any hard boxes or large saddlebags you want. See it here. Luggage rack extender Allows you to easily attach some of Hepco & Becker’s luggage, and also carry other stuff more easily as well. This alone is probably all that most riders need for most touring, if they can get their luggage load pared down. See it here. Easyrack Topcase carrier Allows you to clip in a quick-release topcase, with a fold-down bracket that offers security when engaged, and a sleeker look when it’s stowed away. See it here. Alurack topcase carrier Much the same idea, but without a stowaway handle. Both of these carriers must be combined with Royal Enfield’s stock rack to work. See it here. C-Bow side carriers A more streamlined hard attachment point for Hepco & Becker’s C-Bow line of luggage; their regular hard bags will not fit. But if you’re looking for something lighter and sleeker than the wraparound pannier racks, this is it. See here. Skid plate Made in Germany of 3mm-4mm aluminum. See it here. Crash bars Made in Germany; thick tube steel which might save your butt, or at least save your engine, in a crash. See them here. Keep an eye on Hepco & Becker’s website here for other useful add-ons, and more updates to this model-specific series of farkles as they’re released.
